The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (“TRA”) announces that it has completed thereview of the Individual National Fixed Services Licence (“NFL”), following the publicconsultation held between 6 April and 4 May 2025.
Stakeholders’ submissions were reviewed and amendments were made accordingly. The TRA thanks all stakeholders for their engagement throughout this process. The TRA has now issued its Final Direction on the updated and renamed Individual Fixed Services Licence, together with the finalised amendments to the licence, which will replace the existing NFL.
The amendments ensure that the Individual Fixed Services Licence reflects Bahrain’s postmigration regulatory framework under Article 40(bis) of the Telecommunications Law, following the transfer of assets to BNET as the current Fixed Telecommunications Infrastructure Network Licensee.
The TRA will issue the updated Individual Fixed Services Licence to all relevant licensees shortly.
